WHAT IS THE WORK REALITY OF TRANSLATORS IN ARGENTINA?

Rosario Traducciones y Servicios SA conducted its annual survey of Argentina's translation industry for the third consecutive year. During the month of May 2019, translators and project managers were asked to answer different questions about their working lives.

In regard to their employment status, 95% of the translators surveyed said they are freelancers, with only 5% working under an employment contract. In addition, over half (57%) are members of a professional association.

 

Nine out of ten (91%) receive payment for their work through bank transfer, whereas one out of three are paid via PayPal (35%) or cash (28%), and only 6% receive check payments. 


Four out of five (81%) are willing to take a test of up to 300 words when being considered for a job.

Of the project managers surveyed, four out of five (82%) work under an employment contract and one out of five (18%) are freelancers.
